About Us

This is the personal blog of Jen and Ross Arbo, two mid to late-30s white kids from the suburbs living la vida loca in the thriving metropolis of New Westminster. I (Jen) am the main writer here, although occasionally I force/coax/beg Ross to add content.

Ross and I met in 2001-ish when we met in the hallway of our mutual apartment building. Ross helped me move a couch into my place, and I let Ross come over and watch hockey on my colour TV. Christmas 2006, Ross proposed and we got married in July of 2007. July of 2008, our lives were turned completely upside down and Kale was born 12 days late. We also have a 12 year old dog named Mooki who is more cat than dog and for the most part, ignores us, pausing occasionally to menace at other dogs and steal pieces of chicken. She is a Shiba Inu and maintains a posterous of pictures of her sleeping. We also have two chickens, named Noodle and Giblet. They are silver laced Wyandottes and they tweet.

Ross is into mountain biking, espresso, and picking lint off of things. I prefers being crafty, baking, and volunteering. We are both into hockey, gardening, and cooking.

We are pretty simple people with happy and fulfilling lives and what we post here is only be a fraction of the lives we lead, but it’s a fraction we are comfortable sharing. You’ll likely catch a glimpse of our hobbies and interests here as well as get the chance to watch Kale grow with us. We strive to face each day of our lives with humor, patience, and simplicity, and while we don’t always succeed, we are glad knowing that for every crappy day, there are a thousand amazing moments to make up for it.

Because it’s a Frequently Asked Question, a note about images on the Arbolog: Some of the pictures from older posts have gone MIA. I’m sorry about that. I switched where I store my photos some time ago and as a result, the oldest posts are missing their images. When I can, I re-upload them and replace them, but the process is onerous and I don’t have lots of time.

I get told all the time that people can’t find a way to contact us on this blog, so, you can email us at jen arbo at gmail dot com or use this form thing:
